Ethernet is the most popular type of computer networks, used commonly at any scale and application.
In computing appliances we usually use 10Gb speed, optionally also slower as in addition to another network dedicated for computing, such as Infiniband. Because of the relatively high latency and low bandwidth it is not the best as a medium for the messages exchange in applications.
